Bragging about it to the entire world, leading to being outed as a poseur: FAIL

From the WeirdJews community, I found wilperegrine, whom I know from Adas. ... who knows ladyperegrine from LJ due to the similarity in names. ... who knows doc_cathode (in some manner that I'll update when Cathode posts). ... who knows me from Philly and the SDMB. Small world!
Gosh, based on what's happened since Labor Day weekend (see previous LJ entries), I do believe in soul mates. And either I've found her, or I'm close enough for good engineering.
Two really really cool things in science news this week. The Nobel Prize for Physics was awarded to three people for two projects: * To one person for their work on fiber optics. * To two people for their work on CCDs, the sensors that make digital photography possible. A very large ring has been discovered around Saturn, currently called the Phoebe ring (after its shepherd moon). This ring is both extremely faint and relatively far from Saturn, so previous research wouldn't have seen it. Check your favorite news sites for details.
I almost posted this in tidesong's journal, but it works better here. To everybody I may have hurt, intentionally or by accident, from last Yom Kippur until the evening of April 23 this spring -- I give a hearty TOO FRAGGING BAD. To everybody I may have hurt, intentionally or by accident, from my breakthrough on April 23 until now, I apologize, aim to do better in the coming year, and ask your forgiveness. To everybody who may have hurt me, intentionally or by accident, from last Yom Kippur to now, I forgive you unconditionally. Even (especially) if you don't read my journal.

Wishing a good and sweet 5770 to everybody following my LiveJournal.
Elizabeth and I got together Saturday for our second date, after shul. My schedule ran about an hour earlier than I expected, and I interrupted her hauling cargo in-game. When I called to say I was about to head over, she said okay, even given the early time. Afternoon extended into dinner extended into evening. We traded "I love you." We stood on the Calvert street bridge, looking out at Rock Creek Park after dinner, enjoying each other's company. We watched a DVD of a Ren Faire group I had seen in St Louis. We ran out of time to watch a movie, as I had to get home and rest up for Sunday's trip to MDRF. Elizabeth joined my MeetUp group at MD Ren Faire (which had become a joint Ren Faire - Day Trippers MeetUp). Eventually people drifted into wandering around the fair on their own, so Elizabeth and I had some personal time at the end of the faire day. I bought her a rose around mid-day, as I've always wanted to buy a woman a rose at Ren Faire -- she said nobody had bought her a rose before. Mid-afternoon, as we were talking with the Half Moon shoppe's staff, a rose seller delivered a flower to one of those shoppe keepers -- and when she commented being 12 flowers short of her quota, Elizabeth bought me a rose. Nobody has bought me a rose before. She's got it bad. I've got it bad. We've got it bad together. I'll post my photos this week. I'll have to work with GIMP to zoom and crop the photo of Elizabeth and me in garb. Bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy!! I ♥♥♥ my geekette. Elizabeth ♥♥♥ her geek. Ed: I decided to open this entry to the whole world. :D
03 Aug -- requested phone in new test lab at new office site 28 Aug -- needed to use phone; phone hasn't been set up; corporate helpdesk ticket hasn't been updated all month. Snarl. I'm going to look up no-cost Internet phone services.
I've been summoned for jury duty three times. The first and third times, the case was settled after the initial panel was called from the jury assembly room, but before selection began. The second time, I found out the evening before that I didn't have to attend. So, no.
